Nazywam się Sebastian Bazylak i mam problemy z winem od wielu już lat. Moje z nim zmagania, namiętności i czułości opisuję na łamach tego blogu.

Wino traktuję jako odskocznię od zawodowej codzienności. Dzięki niemu poznaję świetnych ludzi, odwiedzam miejsca, których nigdy bym bez niego nie zobaczył, dostrzegam inne punkty widzenia, zgłębiam kulturę, historię i geografię. Same fajne rzeczy. His wines ar not flashy, but they’re very honest and built upon some sort of melancholy you encounter when summer’s almost gone. It’s still warm, but you know not much of it left - Indian summer wines. Eric is very modest, hard working guy. Shake his hand and you’ll know he works his socks off on the vineyard and in the cellar. Since I tasted his wines for the first time I always tend to have a bottle or two of Roucas Toumba in my fridge. Even Bakke, with a posture of Thor himself, is a q Even Bakke, with a posture of Thor himself, is a quite a figure around the Rhône. Born in Norway, raised in the US, and got into winemaking in the Napa Valley. In 2007 he moved to France and set up a winery in Ventoux. He likes go keep his wines in cellar a bit longer than most of the winemakers, and the yongest vintage he showed in Avignon was 2020. He works organically, practices biodynamics and really take his time - releasing bottles when he considers them ready to be drunk (a rarity nowadays, reminding me @meroniwines in that regard) Wines are really idiosyncratic, opulent, but not overwhelming thanks to their inner coherence. They have this prodound generosity of south with great freshness of Mont Ventoux site. Frédéric Roméro joined his father more than 20 years ago and now is leading the family business. The wines are really well done, having as much finesse as Rasteau is capable of which is quite an achievement for this chunky, robust appellation. The entire range is very well handled, and Rasteau Cuvee Prestige and Fleur de Confiqnce especially worth seeking out. On top of that you should definitely try Rasteau Vin Doux Naturel, which is just super joyful. I’ve tasted their wine in a tasting żonę and immediatelly fell in love in their Fleur de Lune Cotes du Rhone Blanc. It’s sapid, mineral and just super tasty. Beret Bleu, red Vin de France was just unassuming, liquid joy. Their Cotes du Rhone Village Gadagne L’Amista is quite serious wine, deep, dense, packed with black fruit and garrigue, dry but with a certain amount of hedonic sucrosite. Chateuneuf du Pape is very Intense, rich and also broad and surprisingly fresh. Even with it’s high alcohol on the brighterr end of spectrum. Elodie Balme are one of the shining stars of Raste Elodie Balme are one of the shining stars of Rasteau and Roaix. Her wine are delicate, bright, full of energy. White is made in a bit reductive style, with struck match and plenty of mineral freshness. Rosé is just super tasty, quite complex and joyful. I really enjoyed red Côtes du Rhône, packed with fruit, underlined with herbat notes, with a bit of tannins. Champs Libres Roaix was my favorite one, quite powerful, deep, with ripe red and dark fruit, fresh with a touch of pkeasant bitterness in the finish. Domaine Brusset is one of those Rhône estates wit Domaine Brusset is one of those Rhône estates with the wide range of wines, from simple (but super tasty) Cotes du Rhone to super complex, ambitious Gigondas of great depth. But all wines are worth trying, as they are balanced, terroir driven and very well made. Also, it was nice to meet my compatriot, Joanna, at the stand.
