Fermentowane i macerowane przez 6 miesięcy w tradycyjnych glinianych amforach – qvevri – a następnie częściowo dojrzewane w beczce (60%). Alkohol: 12,5%. W nosie wyczuwalne aromaty pigwy, mirabelek, kurkumy, zielonej herbaty i delikatnego dymu. Średnia intensywność. W ustach kremowe i lekko maślane, ze skórką cytryny, słodkimi przyprawami, herbatą gunpowder i subtelną taniną. Ma dobrze zbalansowaną, wyraźną kwasowość i czysty profil. Styl dopracowany, choć beczka częściowo przykrywa naturalny charakter qvevri. These wines combine varietal richness with finesse and freshness, showcasing the unique character of the appellation. Maybe not the most popular type of wine, but if made good, they’re really goddamn good. Beskides sweet and dry Muscat you should also try their beautiful rosé and bold reds. Rosé des Balmes Côtes du Rhône 2024 Strawberries, raspberries, cherries — a pure, juicy nose. Full and rich on the palate, yet fresh, with a spicy twist of blood orange on the finish. Les Balmes IGP Vaucluse 2024 Herbal, with mint and sage over a mineral backbone. Fresh and light, with a crisp green apple character. Doré des Bernardines IGP 2024 (Muscat) Subtle notes of linden blossom, elderflower, and peach. Very dry and taut on the palate, with a delicate bitterness on the finish. Les Balmes Côtes du Rhône 2023 (Grenache/Syrah 90/10) Deep dark fruit: berries, plums, a touch of spice. Remarkably fresh and clean. Beaumes de Venise 2023 (GSM) Bold and meaty, with ripe plum, dried fruit, intense pepper and smoky, almost ashy notes. Distinctive and vibrant. His wines ar not flashy, but they’re very honest and built upon some sort of melancholy you encounter when summer’s almost gone. It’s still warm, but you know not much of it left - Indian summer wines. Eric is very modest, hard working guy. Shake his hand and you’ll know he works his socks off on the vineyard and in the cellar. Since I tasted his wines for the first time I always tend to have a bottle or two of Roucas Toumba in my fridge.
